The Indiana Harbor was the first Laker to enter the harbor under the Lift Bridge this season, followed by the Presque Isle an hour later.

For the first time of the 2010 Shipping season the Duluth Aerial Lift Bridge is in operation. After a few test lifts to make sure the bridge operated properly, the Coast Guard Cutter Alder motored under the bridge to initiate the start of the lifting season.
