Pride of Baltimore II now crossing Lake Superior

The Tall Ship "Pride of Baltimore II" is now making its crossing of Lake Superior.
Location on Monday Morning
2010 Arrival
Pride of Baltimore II
Considered the goodwill ambassador of the State of Maryland and the Port of Baltimore,Pride of Baltimore II was commissioned in 1988 as a memorial to her predecessor, the first Pride of Baltimore, which was sunk by a white squall off Puerto Rico in 1986, taking her captain and three crew members down with her. Both ships were built as reproductions of 1812-era topsail schooners called Baltimore Clippers that helped America win the War of 1812. Pride II has sailed nearly 200,000 miles, visiting over two hundred ports in forty countries in North, South, and Central America; Europe; and Asia. Her owner is a non-profit maritime institution dedicated to preserving and enhancing the living history of the Chesapeake Bay by promoting historical education regarding Baltimore-built topsail schooners and the War of 1812.
Pride of Baltimore II has been to Duluth three times—in 1989, 2008, 2010, and 2011—and is returning to Duluth for the 2013 Tall Ships® Duluth festival. She will be available for dockside tours.

Woody on the Water

Wooden boats are works of art and this weekend, many gathered at Barkers Island to parade and mingle.

Off Topic: Chick Update

As an update, the chicks are now a month old and I have moved them out to their new coop.  They have made themselves at home and will soon be venturing out into the fenced in area.
The grandkids are having fun and we should have eggs in 2-3 months.
