Sporting a new paint job, the New Republic, parked here at Fraser Shipyard in Superior, looks like new as final preparations are made for a return to work soon.

Convoy sails past ice shelf

The Cutter Mackinaw left Tuesday with six Lakers that need help getting through the ice pack on the eastern end of Lake Superior.
Here you can see the armada as it skirts the ice shelf near Silver Bay.
